A key takeaway from Morgan Housel’s “The Psychology of Money”

Photo by Morgan Housel on Unsplash

Last week, I read The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel and I loved it. There are a lot of key takeaways from the book but I just want to share one; wealth is what you don’t see.

I’m young and frankly, I also have this urge to show off every expensive thing that I buy. It’s hard being in this era where we are so connected with each other. We can easily see each other’s lives. Instagram, is like a competition of who has the better life. …

When it comes to your investment

Photo by Mathieu Stern on Unsplash

These are my honest thoughts on how I feel about the stock market right now. Please stop the obsession of following famous or rich people when you are investing. Just because Elon Musk is a billionaire, it doesn’t mean that he knows everything about the stock market. He is not the one who wakes up every day, reading the annual report, doing valuation, and analyzing the stocks and companies.

Elon said in one interview with the comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan, I’m going to quote exactly what he said “There’s a conflation of consumption and capital allocation. So, when…

It was such a painful experience

It’s been said that we fall in love with three types of people in our lifetime. One, the first love — happened when we were young. Second, the hard love — this one is painful but it teaches us lessons. The last one, this love comes blindly — unexpected and beautiful.

I had the first two and hopefully, I get to experience the third one. If I ever am in a relationship again, I would do things differently. My last heartbreak was painful but it teaches me a lot.

This is so painful to…

I just feel like sharing it with all of you

Photo by Benjamin DeYoung on Unsplash

It’s been a while, Medium. I just feel like writing today. I’ve been busy with my works these past few months. I have to research companies outside of my country. My workloads increasing but I guess I’m okay with it because I love what I do.

I overdo my exercises and my knees were hurting for weeks. I was having trouble going up and down the stairs. I stop doing my workout routine for a month now. I don’t know whether I can achieve my abs goal this year. …

You can break something in two seconds. But it can take forever to fix it.

“You think killing is hard? Try healing. You can break something in two seconds. But it can take forever to fix it”. Beatrice at Dinner

This is the dialogue and a great scene by Salma Hayek from “Beatriz at Dinner” movie. I don’t watch the movie. I scrolled Tik Tok and come across the scene and it resonates with me.

Today is the day that I lose it. I’m having a major breakdown in the middle of working. I cried and I still cry writing this now. I thought I’m fully healed. For months, I feel motivated with my life…

In your 20s

I am in my 20s right now. Being in your 20s can be the best or worst phase in your life depending on how you live it. During this phase of life, you’re capable of taking any risk — you can try so many things you want to try. Thinking about that sure gives an excitement for me as a young adult.

Some of you may think that I’m too young to advise how people should live their life, but maturity is not defined by age. I’ve been going through a lot in my 20s and what’s funny is, I…

Because you sound just like a speculator to me

Photo by André François McKenzie on Unsplash

We live in the best era ever. If we look back, people don’t have access to various knowledge, information, and educations as we have right now. People had to work hard to access certain information. Public libraries were the greatest resource for them. People read books, magazines, newspapers, and journals about the topics they were interested to know.

Nowadays, we search for a topic that we want to learn and just google it. You will get a lot of information with only a single click. However, you have to have the access to the internet to do that. I guess…

On my spiritual journey of knowing Allah and searching for Laylatul Qadr

Photo by Sohaib Al Kharsa on Unsplash

It’s a little bit late to write this because we already celebrated Eid. I’ve been taking some time off writing in Medium for quite some time last month because I want to spend my time learning about Islam. Laylatul Qadr is special for us Muslim people. It is known as the Night of Decree or Night of Power. It is one of the most sacred nights in the Islamic Calendar.

In Al- Quran, Allah says, “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months”.

Last year or any previous years, I’ve never been excited about Laylatul Qadr. I just…

Photo is the Screenshot from Youtube Music Video Thank U, Next Ariana Grande

I was not Ariana’s fan before. It does not mean that I don’t like her or anything. It means that I don’t watch her interviews and any news about her just doesn’t excite me. I like her acting as Cat Valentine. She’s so adorable in it. I like her songs. She’s a talented singer. However, that change after Thank U, Next’s album came out.

Ariana has been through a lot. If you remember, in May 2017, during Ariana’s concert at the Manchester Arena, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive inside the lobby at the end of the…

Versus, how was it feel before

Photo by National Cancer Institute on Unsplash

It’s a beautiful day. I’m sitting comfortably in my room, watching the sun go down. It’s the time to break the fast for Muslims. I can’t fast today so I decided to write.

Time flies so fast. Ten years back, it was such a happy time breaking fast. I gathered around with my families. My dad was great at cooking. I just said what I want to eat, he cooked it for me. When we heard Maghrib’s adhan, we made dua together. We were talking and laughing at one round table while eating.

After breaking fast, we prayed together. My…
